Kenya - September 20th - 29th 2024
Magical Kenya, located in East Africa, a country most commonly known for having the most incredible safari experiences in the world. This bucket list destination gives real life Lion King safari vibes, but we aren't stopping there, oh no! In true Glossy Getaways fashion, this will be a culture packed, authentic and adventurous journey of a lifetime. We've curated this nine day homegoing with love, to experience as much of Kenya as possible. From the bustling city of Nairobi, to up close and personal interactions with giraffes and elephants, safari game drives, to local craft markets, visiting the village of the infamous Masai Warrior Tribe and even heading to coastline of Diani Beach. Here, we will spend a few days enjoying the sun in this tropical paradise that sits along the Indian Ocean. Our final day in Kenya will be an extra special one, as we spend the day giving back, by visiting a local orphanage and dedicating a day of service by spending time with local children. This journey HOME will be well rounded and nothing short of amazing!
Please note: Kenya requires that you show your vax CARD prior to entering the country, OR show a negative PCR test 2 days before entry. That is the ONLY HEALTH RELATED requirement. NO SHOTS ARE REQUIRED FOR AMERICANS TO ENTER THE COUNTRY. Be sure to have at least two open passport pages in addition to no LESS than 6 months left before your passport expires AT THE TIME OF TRAVEL. A travel visa to enter Kenya is also required but does not need to be purchased ($65) until one month BEFORE the trip. It is a VERY simple online process with that we will provide detailed information about.
IF YOU BOOK YOUR OWN FLIGHT - the flight needs to depart the DAY BEFORE your official "Day 1"arrival date. In order to arrive on the 20th of September, you must depart from your home airport on the 19th of September. This is due to time zone differences, and one short layover in route.
This trip is NOT recommended for you IF you physically cannot handle unusually bumpy roads, if you have a difficult time getting along with others, if you are not interested in AFRICAN culture, If walking is difficult for you, if you overall have a BAD attitude and complain about things outside of your comfort zone, if you expect Kenyan luxury to look exactly like American luxury.
This is an AMAZING motherland, CULTURAL experience! We will see MANY different sides of Kenya, this is a well rounded once in a lifetime experience! Therefore bad attitudes are NOT welcome.
Lets get into the itinerary (itinerary is tentative ):
Day 1- September 20th: Welcome to Kenya!
You will arrive in Nairobi, Kenya via the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Your arranged transportation will be waiting to wisk you away to our first (of 3) Kenyan 4+ star accommodations. The hotel in Nairobi will be our homebase for the duration of our journey. Upon arriving, take the time to get acclimated and relax before our official welcome dinner.
Day 2- September 21st: Guided City Tour
Today we will be exploring the city Nairobi, with a local tour guide. We will become more familiar with the city of Nairobi, try local cuisines and learn about Kenyan history. Some of our points of interest during the tour will be the Bomas of Kenya, the Giraffe Center and the elephant orphanage, where we will have up close and personal encounters with each animal. Today will be packed with plenty of other Nairobi city experiences!
Day 3- September 22nd: Masai Mara
After a late breakfast we will leave Nairobi and take the scenic route to our safari camp site in Masai Mara National Reserve. We need to spend the night at the safari camp so we can wake up early the next day to have a full traditional safari. Along the way we will stop at a local town for an authentic Kenyan lunch and craft market shopping. Once we are settled into our hotel, we will prepare for an evening game drive through the wild! After we return to the site, we will have dinner and entertainment by the bonfire. Tomorrow will be an early morning.
Day 4- September 23rd: Full day safari
Today is the big day! Get dressed in your finest safari gear or animal print outfit as we head out into the great plains of the Masai Mara National Reserve. This reserve sits along the boarder of the country Tanzania and is one of the few reserves in the WORLD that is home to the "BIG 5"; a term that is used to refer to the top 5 most hunted African animals. Lions, African elephants, rhinos, leopards and buffalo, and of course we will see plenty of other animals like Zebras and giraffes along the way as well. Our lunch will be served safari style, and instagram worthy, under a lone (and iconic) Acacia tree. Later we will head back for dinner before turning in for the night, as we have a new adventure to experience early tomorrow morning.
Day 5- September 24th : Masai Warrior Tribe village
Today we will spend the morning in the Masai Warrior tribe village, who live amongst the wild plains and make a living by herding cattle and goats. Known world wide for their graceful physiques, traditional clothing, unique body jewelry, and their iconic jumping dance. It is nearly impossible to beat the Masai in a jumping contest, but we hope you're ready to try! Later, we'll enjoy lunch before heading to the airport for a 50 minuet to our next stop, to enjoy a few days in the tropical paradise of Diani Beach, Kenya. A vacation, while on vacation. Have you ever stepped foot in the Indian Ocean? you will now!
Day 6- September 25th: Diani Beach: Free day
Today is your day to kick back and relax on our 4+ star beach front hotel/villa property. Spend the day however you'd like. Splash around in the Indian Ocean or Explore the culture in Diani, the day is yours! Later we will all come together for dinner, and explore the Diani night life if you're up to it.
Day 7- September 26th: Wasini Island adventure
After breakfast we will embark on an iconic dhow boat to the beautiful crystal clear waters of Wasini island and Kisite-Mpunguti Marine National Park and Reserve for snorkeling. About 4 miles off the Kenyan coast, the park has the most magnificent coral reefs and colorful marine life found in the area, dolphin sightings are common as well. Chill on the island, on the boat or in the water, today will be an absolutely beautiful day! Lunch will be served on the island before heading back to Diani Beach. Tomorrow will be an early start.
Day 8- September 27th - FREE DAY
The day and night is yours to explore more of beautiful Diani and it's nightlife if you're up to it!
Day 9- September 28th: Children's orphanage
We'll be leaving and later heading over to a children's orphanage and dedicate several hours of our time with the children who live there, as a community give back. We will learn about the kids, the facility that takes care about them and engage in fun activities. Free time afterwards.
Day 10- September 29th: Departure
Today we will leave Beautiful Kenya, but with a full heart and amazing memories of experiences that will last a lifetime!

All payments made are non refundable and non transferable, unless a getaway is canceled by Glossy Getaways due to an unforeseen circumstances like Government shut downs or covid-19 pandemic. If you decide not to go on a Getaway all payments are non refundable and non transferable.
In the event of an unforeseen cancelation BY Glossy Getaways, the getaway will be postponed to another date and a credit will be issued for the amount available for another Glossy Getaway. The credit can be used towards the postponed getaway or any other (non-sold out) getaway within a 12 month period. After 12 months the credit will be null and void.
The amount of any credit can be effected by airlines policies (where applicable) , and tour company cancelation policies as well. Airlines can take up to 120 days for refunds. In the event of any cancellations at fault of the airlines or tour companies, the amount of the refund will be based on their individual refund policies only.
Given the ever changing international traveling, COVID related guidelines, it is recommended by Glossy Getaways to at least HAVE a vaccine card. Although it may not always be necessary or even mandatory (based on the country of entry). Glossy Getaways will inform you of any/all required documentation that must be completed to gain entry into any country. Thoroughly reading all of the details provided by Glossy Getaways is necessary to avoid any confusion. Glossy Getaways will not be held accountable or responsible for any documents missing due to not thoroughly reading. Glossy Getaways will not be held accountable/responsible for any trip based misunderstandings due to not thoroughly reading guidelines and any documents sent out by Glossy Getaways to participating Getaway Guests.
If a country requires any entry paperwork or documentation that you fail to produce, a refund will not be available. Glossy Getaways will not be held accountable for handling or producing personal and individual documents required to enter any country.
Travel insurance is inexpensive and also suggested. This is something that can be purchased at your own expense. Glossy Getaways does not provide travel insurance, but many companies who sell travel insurance can be found online by doing a simple google search.
Flight pricing for packages that include flights in the total cost, are contingent upon flights not exceeding the allotted amount set per each individual Glossy Getaway. Example: if the package includes up to $1200 towards flights, and flights end up being OVER $1200, the guest is held responsible for the remaining cost of the flight, after the allotted package cost has been subtracted
All policies are subject to change and all Glossy Getaways itineraries are tentative can be adjusted as to the needs of each getaway.
By signing up for a Glossy Getaway with your submission form and making your first installment/deposit payment, you acknowledge that you have fully read, understand and agree to abide by this contractual agreement of Glossy Getaways rules and regulations.
