Ain't no party like a West African party during the month of December! If you're here for DETTY December, you came to the right place! Join us on our first annual AfroFuture (formally AfroChella) Getaway as we ring in the NEW YEAR, with ALL the vibes, in the Motherland!
Be prepared for non-stop turnups, afrobeats, African culture, food and vibes. In addition to an emotional journey to the slave castles, beautiful beaches and SO much more.
This Getaway takes place during a PRIME travel season because of Christmas, winter break AND the biggest party season in West Africa. Please expect elevated costs for flights and accommodations.
Who is this trip for? This trip has been curated for people who ARE READY TO EXPERIENCE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CULTURE and enjoy turning up, people who are READY to be pulled out of their comfort zone, people who are comfortable partying with like minded individuals, and ONLY for people with POSITIVE VIBES. If you can handle, NO SLEEP, CLUB, NEXT CLUB, PARTY, ANOTHER PARTY ... then Detty December is ready for you! Ghana in December is not for the faint at heart. We have prepared an itinerary full of Ghanian cultural immersions as well, but come ready to TURN UP!

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS - PLEASE READ:
• Visa or Visa On Arrival ($60 - $100) can be done on arrival or 30 prior to arrival

GENERAL
REMEMBER, your flight needs to depart one before the official "Day 1" arrival date. THIS IS DUE TO traveling "FOWARD" in time. Day 1 is December 27th, which means your flight needs to leave on December 26th 2023. when returning home we will be traveling "BACKWARDS" time wise.
Please note: Adventure seekers and culture lovers with positive attitudes..we welcome you! Both women and men are welcome on this Getaway!
If you're NOT ready to experience new things, immerse yourself in AFRICAN culture with a positive attitude and let go of stereotypical Americanized vacation experiences, this Getaway may not be for you. If you physically struggle with walking distances or being on your feet for too long, this Getaway may not be suited for you.
If you have a negative mindset, complain a lot, just don't "do" people or socially struggle getting along with others, can't handle crowds of people, a Glossy Getaways will not suite of your travel needs. As we offer a GROUP travel experience that believes in being open minded and bringing others together, while immersing ourselves in the culture OF the destination that we are traveling to. We are excited to meet and build friendships with like minded people both locally and within the travel group.
Ghana in December attracts people of color from all around the world for a non stop party environment, all while being in the center of Ghanian culture! Vibes on vibes!

Lets get into the itinerary:
Day 1- December 27th: Welcome to Africa!
You'll be whisked away to your 4+ star accommodations, by our private shuttle driver. Take the day to yourself and enjoy some down time, take in the fact that you just traveled to the Motherland and RELAX poolside or simply take a nap before the festivities commence. Tonight we will all come together for our traditional Glossy Getaways Welcome dinner.
Day 2-December 28th: Accra + AfroFuture Festival
We'll start the day off with a city tour of Accra. You'll become familiar with your surroundings on this city tour as we hit up some hot spots and instagram worthy locations.
Later on the AfroFuture events officially commence! Buckle up!!
Day 3- December 29th: The party continues!
AfroFuture is still going on and so are we!
There will be both day and night parties. You can choose to sleep when you're ready. We will tickets to all AfroFuture parties.
Be ready to party the rest of the night away!
Day 4- December 30th: Cape Coast day trip
We believe in experiencing more than just one area of a country, and today we'll do just that as we leave Accra and head to the Cape Coast where we will visit the beach, and also get in touch with our roots as we experience the realities of the transatlantic slave trade at Slave River and a few other locations. Later we'll enjoy lunch on the beach. The ride to Cape Coast will be the perfect time to take a nap!
Day 5- December 31st: Labadi Beach & NYE!
Today will be a day of relaxation as we soak up the culture at Labadi Beach, or you can take the day to rest, BUT be ready to turn up tonight for NYE IN THE MOTHERLAND!
Tonight will be epic :)
Day 6- January 1st: Free day!

Day 7- January 2nd: Community Giveback
Today we will head to a local children's home to spend time with the kids and volunteer our services to them. We will be accepting monetary donations prior to the trip as well as asking for donations like essential clothing items and grocery shopping once we arrive in Ghana.
Day 8- January 3rd: Departure
After our last breakfast in Ghana, we will be transported to the airport to head back home with new experiences, friendships and stories to tell!

Payment schedule WITHOUT flights:
$400 DEPOSIT (per person) is due upfront to secure your Getaway slot at the time of booking. NO slot is secure without a deposit. The deposit will go towards your total balance. The payment schedule below reflects the payment for the remaining balance AFTER the $400 deposit has been made. Once the deposit is made you are able to pay the balance off in 7 MONTHLY payments, OR LESS (IF YOU CHOOSE TO pay the total off in larger lump payments.)

Due to constant fluctuating flight costs to Ghana during this time, flights are not included on this Getaway. We will be sending out reminders to everyone over the next couple of months as we watch flights. However, it will be your responsibility to watch as well and get flights when you feel necessary.
A few tips for booking your flights.
-Flying out of JFK (nyc)or EWR (Newark, NJ) have the best rates
-Accra Ghana airport code is ACC (Kotoka international airport)
-If you are able to pay for flights using PayPal or Klarna, you will be able to split the cost of flights up into 4 payments. We reccommend Paypal. This option is usually found on the final payment page when booking flights.

The grand total of the trip can be paid in full, paid in larger increments than listed OR made exactly as the payment schedule is listed above. NO payments will be accepted on due dates that is LESS than the listed above amount. A monthly reminder will be sent out to everyone. Payments will be accepted on or before the date of the scheduled payment plans.

All payments are non refundable and non transferable, unless a getaway is postponed/canceled by Glossy Getaways due to an unforeseen event like the covid-19 pandemic. If you decide not to go on a getaway all payments are non refundable and non transferable.
In the event of an unforeseen/pandemic related cancelation BY Glossy Getaways, the getaway will be postponed to another date and a credit will be issued. The credit can be used towards the postponed getaway or any other (non-sold out) getaway within a 12 month period. After 12 months the credit will be null and void.
The amount of any credit will also be based upon the airlines policies, and tour company cancelation policies as well. Airlines can take up to 120 days for refunds. In the event of any cancellations at fault of the airlines or tour companies, the amount of the refund will be based on their individual refund policies only.
Given the ever changing international traveling COVID related guidelines, it is recommended by Glossy Getaways to have a vaccine card, although it may not always be necessary or mandatory (based on the country of entry). Glossy Getaways will inform you of any/all required documentation that must be completed to gain entry into any country. Thoroughly reading all of the details provided by Glossy Getaways is absolutely necessary to avoid any confusion, as Glossy Getaways will not be held responsible for any incorrect or personal missing documentation.
If a country requires any covid19 related paperwork or documentation and you fail to comply or produce such documentation, a refund will not be available.
Travel insurance is inexpensive and suggested, and can be purchased for an additional cost. Glossy Getaways will not be held accountable or responsible for any medical or covid-19 related issues while abroad.
Flight pricing for packages that include flights in the total cost, are contingent upon flights not exceeding the allotted amount set per each individual Glossy Getaway. Example: if the package includes up to $1200 towards flights, and flights do not drop to $1200 or lower, the guest is held responsible for the remaining cost of the flight, after the allotted package cost has been subtracted
All policies are subject to change and all Glossy Getaways itineraries are tentative can be adjusted as to the needs of each getaway.
By signing up for a Glossy Getaway with your submission form and making your first deposit payment, you acknowledge that you have fully read, understand and agree to abide by this contractual agreement and Glossy Getaways rules and regulations.
